Confessions of a private blog:)

Not that long ago I was reading my friend Gingers blog and she talked about being real with people and letting people know what is really going on in our lives even the uncomfortable stuff. Thanks Ginger for giving me the courage to do that in my own blog. First of all I had no idea how many of you actually read my blog, it made me laugh when I opened my email on Friday and saw all of you that wanted to be included in the invite. Thanks kind of made my day after a really crappy one.

Anyways most of you left lots of comments asking if everything was ok since the blog is going private and some of you have gotten texts from me saying we have changed our numbers. Well here is the short and sweet of what is happening. I am going to try and explain this with out airing out all my families dirty laundry.

The basics are this: Last November my dad and Cliff went to an auction here in town and found the great house we have been working on for the last month. Cliff and I still didn't have the money for the down payment of the house so my dad made us a deal. He paid cash for the house and then at the end of march he said I will turn around and sell it to you guys. So as most of you know we have been working our "ASSES" off on this house. (Excuse the profanity) Well my dad has been going through a really rough year. He lost his wife and job in a matter of about five months. So he is not doing very well mentally. The other night we had a really BIG fight with him and basically he has taken the house from us, the vehicle he was letting us borrow and never wants to see us again. I am giving you the very short and edited version of this, but that is the jest. We have been through this type of thing with my dad in the past but this time it was much more extreme and we have decided that we have to protect our family and cut ties until he gets some help. Please pray for us right now and for my dad especially. He really has been through a lot and has a lot to work out in his own life. I felt the need to explain to you because you all are our family. You read my blog and wonder how the house is going and I couldn't just not say something about the last few days of our lives. And you will all wonder why I suddenly stopped posting our progress on our "his" house.

God has been so unbelievably faithful in the last 72 hours. He has revealed many things to us that we would have otherwise not known and his timing is perfect. We still have a place to live and have people that are in Vegas that are supporting us and all of you who have called to check on me or left me emails of encouragement. Thank you so much. Most of you know that my world doesn't go to long without some kind of drama and we are pretty resilant. We will work through this I have the upmost faith that God will work this out.

Continue to pray for my dad that he will get professional help and that he will not walk away from his family for good.

I love you all. Thank you for reading my blog even if it is a pain in the butt and you have to sign in now.

My blogs going private

Hey everyone who reads my blog due to unforseen circumstances I am having to make my blog private. I am not sure exactly how it works but only people that I invite will be able to see my blog. I am also going to be getting a new email address in the next few days. If you read my blog regularly please email me at my current email address which is deidra_mitchell00@yahoo.com, this way I can send you an invite to view my blog. I will then send you an email letting you know my new email address and instructions how to get onto my blog. I am really sorry that I have to do this. I loved having my blog where we can all get to it simply but sometimes life throws us a curve ball and we have to duck or take the chance of getting hit. We are choosing to duck. I love you all thank you so much for reading and being interested in our crazy lives. Love You all.

The Weekend Reveiw

This weekend in my mind was slow as far as the house goes. The really anal side of me wants us to work on it 24/7 but the reality is we do have other things going on in our lives. Friday night we worked for several hours we finished painting the ceilings in the two little bedrooms and the doors. It is amazing what a little paint can do to a place. We then came home and played Rock Band with B. Saturday we got up early headed to the house Cliff fixed the heater. Yahoo we have a heater now which we needed last night while working it was chilly here. Then we had a concrete layer come in to give us a quote on the flooring in two rooms. Holy Crap that is going to be so expensive. Then we went to Zacks soccer game which by the way he played almost half the game then he got sidetracked by a mud hole and he was pretty much done. It was really awesome though and we are proud. We then took the kids to lunch then came home for a little while had a meeting with our financial person then called it a day. Sunday we went to church then worked hanging plastic in the main part of the house and then we came home for a little while then went back to church for a class by Dave Ramsey that is called Financial Peace University. We are super excited about it. Hopefully we will be debt free in ten years including our newly purchased house we will let you know how it goes. Then we went back to the house and we textured ceilings till we ran our of texture. So yes a very full weekend. So here I sit today with my little buddy curled up on the couch at 11:30 sound asleep, he was up an ungodly time, I am blogging and about to finish the second book in the Twilight series. We just need a day:)

PS I have about 80 pics of Zack soccer game but I am to lazy to go get my camera and upload them but by the weeks end I will post them.......

Proof that we are making progress

Well here are some updates on the house. We are making progress. First of all as of yesturday my house is officially popcorn free. The ceilings are done!!!!!Thank God now the fun begins. Cliff and Zack spent a good amount of time cleaning up the garage. Oh and the garage is actually a garage so we can check that off the list. So we are excited about that.

This is Zacks bathroom that hopefully when you walk into it you feel like you are getting a little piece of the ocean. We are making our own art work for this room. That is a work in progress and I prefer to wait till it is done to reveal the masterpiece.

I finally asked Cliff to take a picture of me working so that you all would believe that I am actually helping with this house:) Anyways this is in our bedroom, if you click on one of the pictures I think that you will get a better idea of how the ceilings are going to look. Amazing may I add. I learned this technique while working with my uncle one summer and I have always like it.

This is the view from our roof. I know cool right. Well I decided that I want to make the top of my porch an actual porch that we can hang out on. The view is great and if we actually do it we will probably cut down a tree to open the view up even more. We'll see how it goes.

Probably not safe but freaking cool just the same.

Today I was taking a shower and Zack was playing on his bed. When I got out he said mommy you come see. This cool. I said ok and this is what I saw him doing:

If you are confused this is what you are seeing him do. First he strips all the covers off his bed then he gets at the end of his bed runs full blast and kicks off the wall. The time he did it for me this morning he actually did this side flip thing. Scared the crap out of me but it was really cool. So tonight I had him re-enact it for his dad then we probably encouraged him to much. He loves it. I think I will be calling about gymnastics tomorrow:)

Ok so maybe he does miss Buffalo

This is how Zack came downstairs this evening while I was cooking dinner. I guess he does long for home every now and then. Can I just say it was like sixty-four degrees here today.

It's probably been around for generations

So have you ever just remembered something from your childhood and it just makes you happy. Well the other day, for what ever reason, I remembered these muffins that my Grandma Linda use to make us when I was younger. They were just simple muffins with a chocolate sauce but I loved them. Anyways she is a very hip grandmother and has a facebook so I asked her for the recipe and when she emailed it to me the top of it said Paw Paw's muffin recipe. That is my great grandmother. I know weird but she is Paw Paw and we don't even blink an eye calling her that and neither does she. Ok there is a point to this. Anyways in my minds eye those were Linda's made up recipe for muffins I had no idea that they orginated from Paw Paw and who knows where Paw Paw got them from. But they have been in our family at least four generations now. I just think it is cool that food gets passed down from one generation to another. On my Teresa mom's side of the family I have my grandmothers homemade rolls that she cooked every holiday and our family literally would have fights to see who got the first one. On my dads side of the family he made canned tomatoes for us every summer and Aebleskivers for us which is a Danish pancake. I have that recipe and now my dad and I found the special pan to cook them in. I don't know my point I just love that I have things like to pass down to Zack. He is a boy so maybe he won't care as much but I hope that I will teach him to see the greatness in this like I do. Thank you Memo that is what the new batch of grandkids call grandma Linda and I like so Thank you for passing this on to me I will definately keep passing it on for another generation.

This is Memo with my neice Savannah from my trip there in November.

Our personal Houdini

Fifi has become our own personal Houdini, she escapes from her cage every chance she gets. When we got her I found her cage at a garage sale for five bucks so I shouldn't complain that she escapes because it just means she is smart and I am cheap. She cracks us up we gave her a peice of ice the other day and she went to town licking it and pushing it around the kitchen. We keep her contained in the kitchen because she is not very potty trained but if Zack or Payton are not in there with her she will scale the wall to be where ever they are. She loves to play chase or crawl up your pant leg if you give her half a chance.

Yeah for Cliffy I have my computer back. Thank you babe. Ok so here are the random pics that I have from our work. I will try to do better. But the room that you see Zack and Cliff working on is the garage. They had to tear down the wall so that we can have an actual garage not another room. The room with yellow walls is Cliff and I's bathroom. The color is metallic yellow. I love love how it turned out. Cliff and Zack worked on getting all the big rocks moved out of the yard so we can eventually move all the little rocks to the front yard. I finished Zacks bathroom yesturday, it is going to be an ocean theme. We are making our own art work for the room. I went and bought canvas and paint today all for thirteen dollars. It is going to be really cute and of course I don't have any pictures. So there you go those are the pics from the last week or so of work.
